TVN On Country “If you can see it, you can be it”

In just eight short years, three mates tired of being an ‘employment number’ have created a successful and award-winning construction, project management and procurement business that is having a profoundly positive impact on Community and employment opportunities for First Nations youth.

TVN On-Country traces its origins to a 3×5 square metre rumpus room to now having offices around Australia and employing more than 70 people.

They are working on high-profile builds like the Munarra Centre for Regional Excellence (MCRE) on Yorta Yorta Country in Shepparton. At a total cost of $36 million, it is the state’s largest project ever awarded to an Indigenous-led company by the Victorian Government.

As a result, TVN On Country were named Master Builders Victoria Regional Commercial Builder of the Year 2025.

TVN On-Country is also creating employment pathways for Indigenous youth through the Wodonga-based not-for-profit they founded which provides employment and career pathways for First Nations youth into the construction sector.

On-Country Pathways began as a pilot project within TVN to provide a pipeline of Indigenous talent for the construction industry and was formally launched as a separate entity in June 2022.

Firmly established in the demolition game, TVN are smashing stereotypes. The business actively encourages diverse participation in the construction industry and is proud that almost a third of its workforce are women, well above the industry average of 13%.

Managing Director Jebb Hutchison believes in the power of business to drive change and opportunity.

“Business is hard work, it’s 24/7, and I am proud of what we have achieved. Don’t get me wrong, I love the business side of things, but that’s not what gets me out of bed in the morning. What drives me is the impact we can have on creating intergenerational wealth and opportunity.

“We have a commitment to ‘First Nations businesses first’ and imbedding them in our supply chains. It’s about providing opportunities for young entrepreneurs and Mob just starting out and encouraging them to succeed."

“We give feedback to all those who submit quotes, not just the successful ones, to help them with the next opportunity.”

TVN On-Country’s first opportunities came in the form of a relatively small job for the Department of Home Affairs in Sydney quickly followed by a Department of Defence job in East Sale, Victoria. In the first year alone, the three partners racked up tens of thousands of kilometres, managing the requirements of these projects from their regional Victoria base in Wodonga.

Around 90% of TVN On-Country’s work is won via open tenders and not through the Indigenous Procurement Policy (IPP) framework. On their books are mostly return clients, which speaks to the quality of the work and strong culture and values the team brings with them.

TVN On-Country has just been named Registered Supplier of the Year and additionally took out the Dr Dean Jarrett Award Recognising Outstanding Impact at Supply Nation’s 2025 Suppler Diversity Awards.

“We need to build together, and we will be stronger for that. If you can see it, you can be it,” says Jebb.

Another time Supply Nation connected two businesses with success:
