“Marcus Lee Design worked with NAB in 2011 on the bank's third Reconciliation Action Plan. The project involved creating a unique artwork as well as document design and layout within the NAB corporate branding guidelines.  Marcus Lee Design created multiple artwork concepts with NAB selecting the 'two hands' design for the cover as it symbolises partnerships and their working together with Indigenous Australia”.
Stephanie Rice, Manager, Indigenous Finance and Development National Australia Bank (NAB)

The client

National Australia Bank Group (the Group) is a financial services organisation with over 12,000,000 customers and 50,000 people, operating more than 1,750 stores and Service Centres globally.

The opportunity

Marcus Lee Design had the opportunity to submit a design service proposal for the NAB Reconciliation Action Plan 2011. The mission was to create the design layout, illustrations and finished artwork for the 20 page document within the NAB branding guidelines. The brief also required the concept development of a relevant and purposeful Indigenous image, which is to symbolically represent the banks RAP.

"Working with NAB proved to be a very rewarding experience. Our design challenge was exciting as the NAB visual guideline provides and allows for the creation of graphic images, as long as the technique and execution is compliant with the corporate style. We tailor designed a unique Indigenous inspired image of the coupling hands, that achieved the Reconciliation Action Plan communication objectives, while also aligning with the banks corporate branding appearance. Our understanding of our client’s vision ensured the overall appearance of the document design layout was clearly interpreted and professionally executed."
