The First Step will be conducted in four parts.

The purpose of the survey is to obtain the learning objectives of participants as well as obtain a sense of their knowledge of supplier diversity and their organisation’s progress towards embedding a supplier diversity program.
Part 2 is the training. The training will occur face to face in a group over 2 days. The training is based on adult learning principles and will involve theory and individual / group tasks to apply the theory. Participants will also prepare their own supplier diversity workplans that they can take away with them and work on after the training.
Part 3 is a post-training online survey. All participants will be asked to complete an online survey within two weeks of the completion of training. The purpose of the survey is to measure the trainings success in meeting the participants learning objectives and deepening their knowledge of supplier diversity. The survey will also capture information on the training content and process itself so that the pilot can be used to improve the roll out of ongoing training.
Part 4 is a post-training survey 12 months later. The purpose of this survey is to assess the participants application of their workplans and whether the training has contributed to a further embedding of supplier diversity within their organisations.
Key participant activities:
- Completion of online surveys x 3:
- 30 mins to complete pre-training survey
- 10 mins to complete post-training survey
